Only 12% of Association Partners Prefer Virtual Conference Sponsorships
In 2021, Partnership Professionals Network and Dynamic Benchmarking teamed up to launch the State of Sponsorship Engagement Survey. With Partnership Professionals Network being the subject matter experts in association partnerships and Dynamic Benchmarking providing the leading association technology for data collection and benchmarking, the two set out to produce a highly asked for industry resource. The goal of this survey was to examine the changing landscape and needs of association partners.
The survey was sent directly to sponsors and explored how they felt on a number of sponsorship topics including: their sponsorship preferences, how their sponsorship dollar spend was trending, if they were meeting their sponsorship objectives, how they measure their sponsorship success and more. The study also included open ended questions where respondents could elaborate on their experiences. One anonymous respondent stated when asked about their sponsorship spend:
"Our budgets are not limitless and ROI is more important now than ever before.”
On January 26th, 2022 Dan Kowitz and Bruce Rosenthal with the Partnership Professionals Network and Ray McDonald with Dynamic Benchmarking, hosted a virtual discussion to release the findings of the study. In the hour long presentation they discussed the survey methodology, stats uncovered in the study, why companies sponsor associations, current growth trends in sponsorship and how associations can use the findings to better engage their partners.
