First Ever New Member Engagement Study

Jan 9, 2017 9:00:00 AM

Groundbreaking study confirms the value of new member engagement programs and provides a comprehensive look at how the most successful programs engage members

WINDHAM, NH (PRWeb) – December 8, 2017 - Dynamic Benchmarking, a provider of customized online benchmarking and reporting solutions, along with Kaiser Insights, a qualitative research firm serving the association industry, is pleased to announce the availability of results from their New Member Engagement Study. This study brings together data from over 130 associations to provide the most comprehensive look at industry best practices and key performance indicators in the areas of new member engagement and onboarding practices.

“As a qualitative researcher, I’ve spoken to hundreds of association members,” comments Amanda Kaiser, Founder of Kaiser Insights. “Around the 200th interview, I saw a distinct pattern emerging — members who were positively engaged with their association indicated that their initial experiences significantly influenced their high level of engagement. It was clear these associations were doing something positive and impactful in the early stages of membership that others were not.”

In July 2017, Dynamic Benchmarking and Kaiser Insights launched the New Member Engagement Study to collect data on association practices related to new member onboarding and engagement strategies and tactics. This mixed-methodology study started with qualitative interviews with association professionals to inform the more quantitative survey which was hosted on the Dynamic Benchmarking interactive benchmarking and reporting platform. Data was collected on best practices and key performance indicators from associations of all sizes and industries from across the US. This data is now available at the Dynamic Benchmarking website where it can be viewed using the innovative Dynamic Benchmarking data filters and dynamic reports.

“We are so pleased to release the results from this study,” adds Lisa Vivinetto, Chief Marketing Officer of Dynamic Benchmarking. “Now study participants can access data and create custom reports to compare their performance with other associations across the country. This tool will allow them to see what other organizations are doing to engage new members, what they’re spending, and what results they’re able to achieve.”

“If there’s one thing that this study has already made abundantly clear, it’s that no matter your association’s size, industry or location, new member engagement programs do work!” adds Kaiser. “It is our hope that associations will use this study as a resource to find the practices that work best for their unique organizations and continue to measure, compare and improve their performance for years to come.”
