Dynamic Benchmarking simplifies collection and analysis of industry data for Pennsylvania Medical Society
Organization reduces workload and improves reporting by moving salary and benefits survey to dynamic, online platform.

Dynamic Benchmarking recently moved the association’s long-running salary and benefits survey to its highly flexible and user-friendly platform, to deliver faster and more accurate data input and analysis as well as on-demand, customizable reporting.
As the advocating body for over 20,000 physicians and medical students in the state of Pennsylvania, PAMED has conducted an industry salary and benefits survey of its members for many years.
“While there are many national and regional studies that provide salary and benefits data for medical practices, our survey provides data on a county by county basis,” says Mary Ellen Corum, Director of Practice Support at PAMED. “Our membership is quite diverse, representing everything from single physicians with rural practices to major metro locations with over 100 practitioners. The needs of these practices are very different and we want to provide them with data most relevant to their specific needs.”
Historically, the study had been conducted completely offline with surveys mailed to, and returned by, members. All data tabulation and analysis for over thirty different positions, plus information on practice size, location, specialties and more, was conducted by PAMED. The process was time consuming and labor intensive, limiting PAMED to conducting the survey on a biennial basis.
Dynamic Benchmarking moved the survey to its online, automated platform. Now, the survey is easily accessible through the PAMED website and has simplified data entry for members and completely automated all data aggregation and analysis. Members can enter data online at any time and will be able to run their own, customized reports using a wide variety of data filters to access only the information most relevant to them.
“The seamless interface with our website plus simple registration and login for our users is wonderful,” adds Corum. “ The ability to run custom reports on the fly is simply going to blow the minds of our members. Now they’ll be able to dive deep into the data and get the information they need to be truly competitive with their peers.”
Response to-date has been overwhelmingly positive, with members commenting on how easy the new platform is to access and use. PAMED even achieved an impressive 10% of their participation on the first day of data collection.
“Our members could choose to invest in their practices in a multitude of ways,” says Corum. “The information they’re providing and gaining access to through this study is unique and relevant. It’s valuable to them and it’s valuable to us.”
