Interactive tool will provide real-time, peer-to-peer comparison of key performance metrics of public sector IT departments.

Windham, NH, September 17, 2015 - Dynamic Benchmarking, a provider of customized online benchmarking and reporting solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of a new benchmarking study for GMIS International. The new, web-based tool will provide real-time, peer-to-peer comparison of key performance metrics of public sector IT departments from across the country.

Established in 1971, GMIS International is the most inclusive community of public sector IT professionals worldwide. With over 1500 member representatives from city, county, state, and K-20 education organizations across America, GMIS International represents the largest professional association of public sector IT leaders in the United States. Dedicated to providing best practice solutions for initiatives, GMIS provides its members with enhanced professional development, training, conferences, awards and networking while offering leadership though advocacy, research and shared experiences.

“GMIS International's primary mission is to leverage the collective knowledge of our members,” comments GMIS Association Executive, Carolyn Price. “Benchmarking is a natural and effective way of doing just that.”

Launched in August 2015 at their annual meeting, the benchmarking study is the first of its kind for GMIS.

“In the past, we would collect data on our members for internal use, but we’ve never shared that with the membership at large,” adds Price.

The new study collects data from public sector IT departments on budgets, department demographics and technology inventory.

“This study will provide valuable information to our agency members as they develop project plans and determine what investments to make in staff and equipment,” says GMIS 1st Vice President and President-Elect, Justin Heyman. “Likewise, it will provide valuable insight for our vendor members as they develop their marketing plans.”
