DB Interactive Compensation Assessment Tool adds Value for TAPPI

Web-based compensation study and reports help paper industry professionals assess and improve hiring and compensation practices.

Windham, NH, November 24, 2015 - TAPPI and Dynamic Benchmarking, a provider of customized online benchmarking and reporting solutions, are pleased to announce the launch of a new, online benchmarking survey. The interactive, web-based compensation and benefits survey brings significant advancements in usability and customized reporting for the recently revived and retooled benchmarking study.

Established in 1915, TAPPI is a volunteer-led association that is built around a community of approximately 8,000+ member engineers, managers, scientists, academics, suppliers and others from around the world. Serving the worldwide pulp, paper, packaging, tissue and converting industries, TAPPI experienced an internal ‘revolution’ in the past several years as its leaders undertook a massive reorganization to reverse the downward trend in membership the organization had been experiencing.

“By 2007, it was clear that our association was in an unsustainable situation,” says TAPPI Vice President of Operations, Eric Fletty. “We needed to make some radical changes to our internal culture, our products and our approach to member services.”

“Today, our revitalization is the cumulative effect of many small successes and a focus that has shifted away from our agendas and onto our members’ goals,” adds Fletty.

TAPPI’s Industry Compensation Survey is one such example of the association’s renewed focus on member needs. The original compensation survey was discontinued in 2007 as part of the organization’s cost reduction efforts, but recognizing a vital need in the industry, TAPPI set forth to revive the study.

“Our members have experienced a lot of change in their industry in recent years,” states Scott Springmier, TAPPI Business Development Manager. “One of their greatest needs was information they could use to attract and retain talent. This study gives them that and much more.”

The TAPPI Industry Compensation Survey provides access to salary information across all industry segments. Through premium filtering of compensation data, users can create personalized reports on key metrics by industry segment, job type, geographic location, level of responsibility, level of education and more.

“Dynamic Benchmarking has delivered a simple, easy to use product that is both practical and cost effective,” continues Springmier. “It has allowed us to create a tremendous resource for our members that will help them improve their hiring and compensation practices.”
