Professional Photographers of America Uses Dynamic Benchmarking to Educate Members on Key Business Issues

Online benchmarking tool presents data in an interesting and relevant way to studio owners

WINDHAM, NH – September 17, 2013 - Dynamic Benchmarking, a provider of dynamic online business benchmarking and reporting solutions, is pleased to announce the continuing  success of the Studio Comparison Tool it created for the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Having recently passed the one year anniversary of the platform’s launch, PPA is continuing to see greater usage of the tool by its membership and finding new ways of using the data presentations to further their mission.

While PPA had conducted benchmarking surveys before, they struggled with finding a way to make the collected data interesting and meaningful to their membership.

“We knew the data was compelling and vital to the successful growth of our members’ businesses, but we were not having success in presenting that information in a way that studio owner’s found meaningful and interesting,” comments Bridget Jackson, Studio Management Service Manager for PPA.

“Comparing key performance indicators with like businesses can be very valuable to the success of any organization, but the real value is found in turning that information into strategic action items that result in a positive change,” adds Dynamic Benchmarking Founding Partner and Chief Operations and Technical Development Officer, Betsy DelFosse.

With that in mind, Dynamic Benchmarking developed custom filters and reports based on the data PPA had already collected. The new platform allows PPA members to generate dynamic comparisons to see the real world impact of potential changes they could make to their studios. For instance, the Dynamic Benchmarking reports show a studio how changing their location or type of sessions could affect their bottom line. By turning financial data into relatable stories, studios were now able to easily see how making different choices in how they ran their operations affected their profitable.

“We are so pleased with the results we’ve seen since launching our Studio Comparison Tool,” continues Jackson. “Dynamic Benchmarking helped us make the leap from providing information to providing education.”
