Dynamic Benchmarking Creates Interactive survey and reporting solution provides valuable comparison of industry compensation and marketing practices for individuals and firms
Interactive survey and reporting solution provides valuable comparison of industry compensation and marketing practices for individuals and firms.
Windham, NH, November 11, 2014 - Dynamic Benchmarking, a provider of customized online benchmarking and reporting solutions, is pleased to announce the launch of a new, interactive survey and career assessment tool for the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). This powerful, new system allows members to make specific peer-to-peer comparisons of compensation and benefits metrics as well as compare and analyze firm performance.
SMPS represents a network of more than 6,200 marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada. SMPS is the only marketing association solely dedicated to improving firm growth, performance, marketing ROI, and business development knowledge. The Society had conducted periodic compensation and benefits studies for many years on paper before moving the survey online in 2009. In 2012, several SMPS staff members saw a demo of the Dynamic Benchmarking solution at the ASAE Annual Meeting and Exposition and saw an opportunity to further improve the benchmarking experience for their members. They scheduled a demo of the system and the SMPS Board of Directors approved the purchase and configuration of the system in 2013.
“Dynamic Benchmarking offers features unlike any other platform that we’ve seen,” comments SMPS Marketing Director Michele Santiago. “We knew instantly that our membership would appreciate the user-friendly, interactive nature of the platform.”
The 2014 Marketing Compensation and Metrics Survey allows SMPS members to benchmark salary and benefits packages as well as firm metrics against their peers. Individuals can compare their compensation to that of their peers using a variety of filters such as job function, years of experience, geographic location, and more. Firm comparisons may also be made based on several variables including firm type, size, and location.
“The data collected will provide our members with valuable market research that will help in tracking career progress, staffing, and benchmarking best practices,” adds Santiago.
Because the Dynamic Benchmarking platform creates a more streamlined data collection process and allows members to save and update their data at any given point, SMPS was able to add a new segment of questions to this year’s survey to measure firm operations. The new survey section asks questions about budgets, proposals, marketing and business development department structure, and client satisfaction.
“Our members wanted more information on the day-to-day operations of like firms,” Santiago explains. “With this easier-to-use format, we’re able to ask more questions and gather that data.”
To date, the change has been well received by users who like the new, format and the addition of firm metrics. Interactive reporting is now available and is free of charge to SMPS members who complete at least 40 percent of the survey.
